Why do gay men talk with the high pitch voice?
Not to sound prejudice because i personally have nothing against gays, but its just, you can always spot "the gay" on tv makeover shows or design shows by their high pitch squeak like voice. Please answer sincerely because we all know i'm not the only one who wonders this. I mean, i KNOW that not all of them do it, but the stereotype is usually correct in identification so i just really wanna know if its like some kind of defect in the vol-co cords or just born that way.
I'm gay, and you would never know it. I don't sound gay, walk gay, act gay. I dress nice, but that's just good sense. The reason those guys talk like that is just because that's how they talk. They use lots of expression and varied tones and pitch in there voice, and that makes there voice a high pitch. Also understand that if all your going off of is gay men in makeover or design shows, then maybe realize that that is a small proportion of the gay community.
PS Its probably not best to describe how a gay person talks as a 'defect'. Or calling them 'the gay'. Do people call you 'the straight'?
