Movie Adaptation
Which movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice do you prefer?
I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice and plan to watch a few movies based on it when I finish. Which movie adaptation do you prefer? I heard the BBC tv mini series is the best. Since it's five hours long I assume it's is true to the book.
The person who recommended the BBC one to me said that they didn't like the Kiera Knightly one because they made Elizabeth seem belligerent instead of witty. Does anyone agree or disagree?
The one with Colin Firth. I'm pretty sure it was a BBC adaptation; either way, it was brilliant.
He's a much better Mr. Darcy than the Mr. Darcy in the modern one with Judy Dench and Keira Knightley.
EDIT: Quite true. Lizzie was more belligerent in the one portrayed by Keira Knightley. And generally, I thought the BBC one had stronger characterization. I asked my step-mum what she thought... she has a master in literature and I'm like, 'which one did you like more?' And she said 'the BBC one, but my reasoning behind it won't be very good. I only like it more because it had Colin Firth'
