I found an old stock in a box from an estate sale. What to do now?

A friend of mine has an old stock that she found in a box from an estate sale. She has taken it a few places, but no one really has given her any realistic advice. What should/could she do now? Should she take it to her lawyer?
I'm really not sure whose name is on it.
The stock was issued in the early 30's. The previous owner is deceased. It is a bank stock and it is still active. The bank is now Key Corp. Please anymore advice? She really wants to figure this out.

The stock has no market value to your friend since it is not registered to them nor to any of their relatives. So you wont be able to the shares nor receive any real money for it

However, the stock certificate may have some value as a collectors item depending on the issue date of the certificate and the name of the issuing company

On the front of the certificate is the name of the "transfer agent" you can contract them for further information
Also, you can see on the certificate the state in which the company was incorporated. You can contact the state's Secretary's office for the status of the company and if it is still business, contact the company

You can google "old stocks" there are collectors out their that have an interest in such items

When all else fails, the next time you're at Michael's buy a picture frame and hang in your room
